St. John’s, NL, Canada
Smoking tolerance level [1= very illegal 5=virtually legal]: 4
Legislation: Like all of Canada, illegal but usually tolerated unless your an idiot or such.
Cannabis is schedule II in Canada (for more than 3 kg). Canada’s cannabis control laws are spottily enforced, with the west coast (British Columbia) being well known for its high quality cannabis and low levels of enforcement. In 2002, Canada’s federal government made several findings in favor of cannabis legalization and medical use approval. Although the status of medical cannabis is still in flux (sep 2002), the Canadian government has several times voiced its intention to support full medical use. Non-viable Cannabis seeds and Cannabis stalks (that do not include leaves, flowers, seeds or branches) are exempted.
Law enforcement: Stay out of cars when smoking and away from schools, common sense stuff.
and also: “Don’t be too obvious and you’ll be fine. Police don’t go out of their way to arrest smokers.”
Where to buy marijuana: Mostly gonna have to know someone or ask the usual suspects as in any city, Neo=hippies, punks and the rocker types.
and also: “Not many options if you don’t know anyone.
Asking around downtown in front of bars might work, any bar downtown with a band playing and a young crowd should have people outside smoking. Ask them and someone should be able to hook you up.”
Marijuana prices: No one seems to buy many grams anymore but if you find one $15.
1/8 are usually $40
1/4 are $70-$80
and also: ” $10 – .8g-1.0g
$20 – 1.7g-2.0g
$35-40 – 1/8 oz
$65-75 – 1/4 oz
$110-125 – 1/2 oz
$210-240 – 1 oz”
More information: Many grades from hideous shake like crap to top of the line Herder descended bub from out west (BC) or grown locally. Use to be the hash gateway for North America in the day, but hard to find now and usually tampered or untrustworthy.
