Legislation: Possesion of under 50 grams of marijuana is a disorderly persons offense, punishable by up to 6 months in jail and a $1000 fine. Possesion of over 50 grams is a felony and greatly increases the ramifications. Any possesion within 1000 feet of a school zone adds a minimum of 100 hours of community service for those who are not incarcerated.

Law enforcement: Princeton and the neigboring towns of Kingston, Plainsboro and West Windsor are extremely safe areas of New Jersey, where not much crime takes place. The police honestly have nothing better to do and are out looking for people who smoke. It is very very easy to get caught in your car and it is strongly advised not to smoke while driving. Do not smoke in public, or even in your back yard, unless you have a large yard and it it fenced in.

Where to buy marijuana: Not many suggestions here. I would not attempt to buy it anywhere from someone random. They do have a “slum” area of Princeton, but most of the people who live there are illegal aliens and are trying to keep everything on the up and up so they don’t attract attention to themselves. If you have a car, Trenton is about a 15 minute drive and New Hope, PA is about a 30 minute drive. Either place would be far better to try to get some pot. The only way I could see someone getting pot in the Princeton area is to go to a house party at the University(either Princeton or Rider). Usually you will find a smoker at the house who would be willing to sell a few dimes.

Marijuana prices: Depends on what your looking for. “Regs” or low quality stuff is usually about $25-$40 for a quarter and $110-$150 for an ounce. “Mids” is usually about $160-$200 for an ounce. Anything kind bud will be $20 per gram, $90-$120 per quarter and $300-$400 per ounce. If you happen to be lucky enough to run into haze, it will be $25-$30 per gram and $500+ per ounce.

More information: Be really careful in this area. Cops don’t have much else to do. If you get caught with any amount, even just a joint, they will arrest you and you will face criminal charges. With a good attorney, you will be able to avoid jail time usually if its under 50 grams, but you still spend alot of money on attorneys and fines. Only have it in your car when transporting it from where you buy it and never ever smoke in your car.
