Corpus Christi, TX, Texas

Smoking tolerance level [1= very illegal 5=virtually legal]: 3.5

Legislation: Possession of two ounces or less of marijuana is punishable by up to 180 days in jail and a fine up to $2,000. Possession of greater than two ounces is punishable by up to one year in jail and a fine up to $4,000.

Law enforcement: Not a good idea to smoke in plain sight while in a public place. That said, while driving, or anywere semi-private, you’re probably OK as long as you keep cool and inconspicuous. Watch out for the intersection cameras, they WILL photograph/record your car and possibly you if you speed or run a light. Most of all, be smart.

Where to buy marijuana: Corpus Christi has two things going on: Tourism (beaches in the summer) and Texas A&M CC (fall and spring). In the summer, across the JFK causeway on the “island,” you can probably find some good clubs in the evening. Look for youger people (early 20’s) who may be college students on break (and who look like the type who partake of the herb!). In the fall and spring, A&M CC is a great place to start out. Look for students just hanging around talking and they will probably be happy to point you in the right direction. Stick around the living areas and recreational hotspots. Bottom line, the best sources are younger people (probably college students) in and around clubs or the university. If you have time, try to get to know some of the local student types and you may even find a few who will offer some freebies! Use good judgement!!!

Marijuana prices: Mexican Brick (lows)

Ounce = $25-$35

1/4 lb. = $80-$120

Mids:

Ounce = $35-$55

1/4 lb. = $100-$140

Marijuana brands: Mexican brick is fairly common. Due to the climate and population however, there is a respectable ammount of the locally home grown stuff floating around. Brick will fill the gap if you really need to get something, but the local stuff is better. Most of it would be mids; the “student seasons” cause shorter grows and shorter drying which reduces potency but allows faster turnaround to gardeners. This is what to look for if you want a good price while still getting a good product. Just about anything that is not pressed down compact (from being bricked) will be of this type – most buds are fluffy and full. Highs are harder to come by and more expensive, but can be found if you look for them. Both the local mids and highs are usually of known genetics (either home bred or from a commercial seed bank) – the key is the time allowed to grow, mature, flower, and dry. You can find known strains like Northern Lights, Blueberry, several varieties of Haze, and maybe a few other hybrids, both mids and highs depending on growing conditions.
