Marijuana Laws in Des Moines

By Iowa law, the possession of any amount of marijuana is a misdemeanor, punishable by up to six months in jail and a fine of up to $1,000. For a second offense the penalties increase to up to one year in jail and a fine of up to $1,500. Subsequent offenses are punishable by up to two years and a fine of $500 – $5,000. There is the possibility for conditional discharge for possession charges. Possession within 1,000 feet of a school, public park, swimming pool or recreation center adds an additional 100 hours of community service to the sentence.

In 2014 Iowa legalized the use of CBD to be prescribed by doctors to children with epilepsy and people with serious diseases. However, only low THC/high CBD concentrates are allowed and the Iowa courts refused to allow marijuana to be manufactured in Iowa. So basically these idiots have given parents a way to help their children but must break federal laws by going to a medical state to obtain it and transporting over state lines.

Law Enforcement

Law enforcement is very light for the most part, and most times driving around the cops won’t bother you. If you get pulled over and have bud on you, normally if you act cool they will just let you go.

However the suburb of Windsor Heights is an area you should know about, the police here are known to pull people over for less than 5mph over the speed limit. It is a small area, but if you travel from West Des Moines, Urbandale, or Waukee to the city of Des Moines there is a chance you could pass through this neighborhood. Here is Windsor Heights on google maps.

Cops here will target the youth and likely attempt to search your vehicle or call a K9 unit, even though they operate unlawfully it is not worth having to go to court, because these cops will take you to jail for having the smallest pipe or stem and have no remorse. If you are of color (black/latino) or you drive a suspicious or older vehicle don’t even think about coming through on a weekend night because you will be profiled and targeted.

A recent report is: “much worse than previously reported. des moines cops can be pretty chill but suburbs (urbandale, windsor heights, johnston, west des moines, clive) are all horrible.”

Where to buy marijuana in Des Moines

Older advice suggested going to MLK Dr. however this has become a lot more shadier than it used to be. You probably won’t score dank here and most likely will be ripped off. You most likely need a connection.

You might be lucky meeting someone at the bars on Court Ave or at any concerts or events. Smokers can be seen at the disc golf courses if the weather is nice, as there are probably 10 within a half-hour of Des Moines. Recently the suburb of Ankeny went viral when an officer tried to trick a kid into consenting to search his car because he had a disc golf bag. Video Here

To sum it up you must know someone to get a legit hookup, or be social and meet them. You could drive around the city all day looking for people and not find anyone who knows where to get anything. East/South/North side can have some sketchy neighborhoods, but just avoid Windsor Heights.

Another reporter added: “don’t buy around here, especially near mlk parkway as stated before, everyone will rip you off, just tonight I came home $42 short”

Marijuana prices in Des Moines

For anything considered dank you should expect to pay $20/g, $60/8th, $300+/oz. If you have a hookup $50/8th is more common and maybe even cheaper. Most bud you get people will say its from California or Colorado. Due to Colorado being a halfs day drive you can definitely find all the wax, hashes, and signature strains but also the typical no-name dank and homegrown stuff.

Schwag and mids is of course still around, the bud in Des Moines has its ups and downs. Most of the time its some pretty decent stuff.

Most of the time you are only going to get what your looking for around here if you have a connection you know.

Quantico, Virginia

It is actually really easy to get bud in town. The only really sketchy part is if you have to bring it on base. Otherwise, you can find it in the bars if you look for the right guys. The town is full of drug users of all types. The town cops are assholes and will pull over for any minor infraction, and they patrol on foot during the day. The military police are assholes too and will pull over for any thing, like not using your turn signal or failing to come to a complete stop, even ashing your cigarette out of the window. But if you’re in town it’s pretty easy.

Gainesville/Haymarket, Virginia

Legislation: In the commonwealth, 10+ is a FELONY. Watch out.
Law Enforcement: These guys are dicks. YOU WILL get charged for even a stem or seed and they are just itching to search your car. However, if you know your rights they’ll go ahead and let you go as long as you’re also acting straight. Helps being white and not being decked out in Marley clothes.
Where to buy Marijuana in Gaineville/Haymarket, Va:
As long as you know high schoolers and/or young adults, you won’t have a problem finding bud. Even people like me who at one point didn’t smoke (during my high school days)could easily phone someone who would have it.
Gainesmarket Marijuana Prices:
Loud:
1 g – $20
1/8 oz. – $60
1/4. – $110, avg though I’ve heard anywhere from $100-120
Mids:
$10 a pop. Sometimes, something in between mids and loud will cost $15/pop
Brands: Apparently, Ak-47 was first grown here. Other than that, almost all dank (blueberry, purple, diesel, green crack, kush, blue cheese, white widow etc). Dank is extremely easy to find and mids are quite a bit harder to locate. Can’t really ever find hashish.
More information: these towns are part of the wealthiest region in the U.S. and are overpopulated, including many young people with high income parents who have nothing else to buy. You will find good bud if you know kids. There are cops everywhere unfortunately who have no problems stopping and searching and you’re going to come across people who have been busted. Be especially vigilant in the town of Haymarket, where the “I can count the number of cops on one hand” piggies have nothing to do. Lot of sweet backroads for smoke rides, you’ll find them. Check out all the Civil War history in the area.

Yorktown Heights, NY, New York

Smoking tolerance level [1= very illegal 5=virtually legal]: 3

Legislation: Getting caught with anything less than 25 grams in NY state is a violation (was a misdemeanor not too long ago), which is of the same caliber as a minor parking violation. You’ll have to go to court and will have to pay a fine of about 100-150 dollars depending on the judge, but it’s not so bad. Just don’t get caught.

Law enforcement: Like all cities, there are obviously cops. If you’re not an idiot and don’t smoke or make any sketchy drug deals out in the open, you’ll be fine.

Where to buy marijuana: It’s extremely easy to obtain dank bud in Yorktown Heights. Far easier if you know people, but if not, don’t fret. You can still find that ganja by going to Railroad Park. It’s located right near the Shell station (Where the emplyees will sell you dutches, rolling papers, and other tobacco products) and the basketball courts. You can always count on finding a number of somewhat sketchy looking kids sitting at the benches in the park who will by all means know where to find that kind herb. Don’t be shy, most of them are nice enough to help you out, but don’t be a fool. If you are, you will get robbed.

Marijuana prices: Dending on who you purchase your satchel from, 20$ will get you anywhere from .8 to 1.5, the latter usually being some pretty decent dro.

10$ will get you anywhere from .5 to .8, also depending on who you cop from.

Eigths generally go for around 35-40$ and can sometimes be easier to find than say a dime or a dub (20$) sack.

Quarters range from 75-100$

Half O’s are usually around 135-160$

Prices of O’s are questionable.

Marijuana brands: You won’t find anything less than good dro in Yorktown Heights. There’s usually always good haze around and occasionally some more known commercial strains will come around such as Sour D, Trainwreck, and White Rhino.

Legislation: Possession of one half ounce or less is punishable by up to 30 days in jail, most likely suspended. Possession of greater than one half ounce is punishable by 1 – 120 days in jail, with a possibility of community service or probation in lieu of jail. After successfully completing probation, the individual’s criminal record does not reflect the charge.

Law enforcement: Cops are pretty hot in the city limits all the time, but in the outskirts of the city you hardly ever see a cop.

Legislation: A majority of Washington citizens voted in favor of medical marijuana in November 1998. “Fifty-nine percent of voters approved Measure 692 on November 3, 1998. The law took effect on that day. It removes state-level criminal penalties on the use, possession and cultivation of marijuana by patients who possess “valid documentation” from their physician affirming that he or she suffers from a debilitating condition and that the “potential benefits of the medical use of marijuana would likely outweigh the health risks.” Patients diagnosed with the following illnesses are afforded legal protection under this act: cachexia; cancer; HIV or AIDS; epilepsy; glaucoma; intractable pain (defined as pain unrelieved by standard treatment or medications); and multiple sclerosis. Other conditions are subject to approval by the Washington Board of Health. Patients (or their primary caregivers) may legally possess or cultivate no more than a 60-day supply of marijuan

a. The law does not establish a state-run patient registry.

AMENDMENTS: Yes.

Senate Bill 6032, which takes effect on July 22, 2007, mandates the Department of Health to “adopt rules defining the quantity of marijuana that could reasonably be presumed to be a sixty-day supply for qualifying patients.” The Department is instructed to report its findings to the legislature by July 1, 2008.

Patients who possess larger quantities of cannabis than those approved by the Department will continue to receive legal protection under the law if they present evidence indicating that they require such amounts to adequately treat their qualifying medical condition.

Senate Bill 6032 also affirms changes previously recommended by the state’s Medical Quality Assurance Commission to expand the state’s list of qualifying conditions to include Crohn’s disease, hepatitis c, and any “diseases, including anorexia, which results in nausea, vomiting, wasting, appetite loss, cramping, seizures, muscle spasms, and/or spasticity, when these symptoms are unrelieved by standard treatments or medications.”

The new law also limits the ability of police to seize medicinal cannabis that is “determined … [to be] possessed lawfully [by an authorized patients] under the … law.” Source: http://www.norml.com/index.cfm?Group_ID=4571&wtm_view=medical

Law enforcement: Hardly anyone gets pulled over in Woodinville, so driving while smoking is usually pretty safe. Hollywood Hill area is the least sketch, I have lived there my whole life and seen only a few cops.

Where to buy marijuana: The Woodinville Skate Park, or ask some Woodinville High School kids. About every other WHS smoker is a weed dealer or knows one. Common dealing places, although I wouldn’t recommend because everyone knows about them, are the side lot of the Woodinville Safeway and the side lot of Top Foods.

Law Enforcement: In the borough of west chester, you need to be very coy as the cops have come down hard an all types of illegal activities because of all the rich yuppie assholes moving to the area ruining this once small, chill little college town. Cops patrol mainly in cars but on weekends and in nicer weather, bike cops parole the town to(watch out for these guys, there sneaking little wanks)

Where to buy marijuana in West Chester PA : Street deals are almost non existent, but on occasion of nice weather and the planets in alignment, there is a chance. Stay away from the dorms as the campus police like to think that they actually are cops with jurisdiction off campus. In downtown west chester by the 7-11 you can chill and watch people going in a buying blunts, if you dont look like a narc you can approach these people and ask for a hook up. some people are cool, and some are complete assholes. The coffee shop fanarrios(great coffee, a must if ones in a higher mood) is also a good place to check out as alot of punks/goths/hippies chill in and out in front, look for some people wearing tyedie playing hackysac. Other places to check out are the local bars, Kildares(although a richer crowd now inherits the place) Ryans Pub or Barnybys, alot of college kids frequent these bars as well. There is also the local head shop Moonflower next to Taylors music, if your in town for a while and frequent the place and dont look like a cop, some of the younger people who work there might just hook you up(bought an 8th of some purple kush from one of the ladies there, awesome) other than that, try and look for some skateboarders trying to skate the shitty spots in town before they get the cops called on them(I’m one of them).

Marijuana Prices in West Chester PA: 10 a gram average, 230-290 an ounce

A couple of years ago, prices were noticably less as to what they are now. This is from a combination of key players getting busted, and then rebusted. And from an decreased tollerance of just about anything that annoys the local police deparment.

Mids- readily available $5 for a little under two gs

Beasters- $15 are available but harder to find now

Headies-$20-25 pending on quality and who you know Heads as their called are readily available all year round if you know who to talk to.
