Legislation: Marijuana is legal only for medical use in Quebec, with a doctor’s permit.

Law enforcement: The cops are flexible with marijuana laws. They are pretty tolerant for casual non-violent pot-smokers; mind your business and they’ll do the same. Don’t smoke it in public if you don’t have to, otherwise you’ll just get unwanted attention for nothing.

Where to buy marijuana: You can find good deals with homegrowers or dealers in local area like Lennoxville, otherwise look for some connections around Wellington street; you’re bound to find a stoner who would be more than happy to hook you up.

another reporter added: “You can go at the Mi-Vallon park in Rock Forest

Legislation: it is against the law to possess marijuana in Canada. If you have baggies, scales or other selling paraphenalia, you may be charged with trafficking.

Cannabis is schedule II in Canada (for more than 3 kg). Canada’s cannabis control laws are spottily enforced, with the west coast (British Columbia) being well known for its high quality cannabis and low levels of enforcement. In 2002, Canada’s federal government made several findings in favor of cannabis legalization and medical use approval. Although the status of medical cannabis is still in flux (sep 2002), the Canadian government has several times voiced its intention to support full medical use. Non-viable Cannabis seeds and Cannabis stalks (that do not include leaves, flowers, seeds or branches) are exempted.

In July 2000, an Ontario Court of Appeal ruled against the Canadian law because it did not address medical necessity and on July 31, 2001 a new regulation was enacted by the cabinet which addressed medical use. In January 2003, a lower Ontario court ruled simple possession laws banning cannabis unconstitutional, although it is unclear what the long term implications of this might be.

Law enforcement: The police will search you if you are caught with pot in your possession, they will take it away. If you’re not caught with paraphernalia related to dealing you probably won’t be arrested. Don’t get caught with bongs or pipes, they will make you break them. *sniff*. Police reaction will depend a lot on your attitude.

Where to buy marijuana: Try walking main st. look for people hacking (hacky-sac), or hippie-ish looking folks.

Marijuana prices: $25 to $30 for an eighth ounce. Ounce for $200 to $240 (CAD).

More information: Hash is a rarity in town, don’t bother looking for it unless someone offers.

Law enforcement: fairly spotty enforcement but if you are caught your pot will be taken/ probably ticketed. St. Albert is a small community so it is more easily patrolled, and the cops have nothing better to do than bust someone smoking a joint.

Marijuana prices: usually will be around 50 = 1/4 Oz

Where to buy Marijuana in Sudbury: If you dare, you can walk around downtown asking younger people, but it is very likely that you will be ripped off. Your best bet is to go to a club, bar or pool hall and ask someone who looks like a stoner. DO NOT go into the local head shops asking where to score weed; the owners hate that and will throw you out.

another reporter added: “Try to scatter around downtown Sudbury, near the theater and all that. Also, Laurentian University is your BEST bet. ”

Sudbury Marijuana Prices: Locals usually pay $20 – $30 for 1/8th ounce depending on the season. It tends to be cheapest in the early winter, and most expensive in late summer.

Many people smoke hash oil in Sudbury, and it sells for about $50 for a “fiver” (a five gram vial). Check it first to make sure that it isn’t cut, as some people add vitamin E cream to increase their profit margin.

Hash is uncommon, so expect people to charge more. $20 per gram is usually the going rate.

Brands: There’s a lot of mid-grade outdoor availiable for decent prices. Most growers are unaware of which strain they are growing, since it is often a mix. The real treats come in the spring, when the indoor crops are harvested. Look for Durban Poison, Blueberry, Sour Diesel and Big Bud.

More information: Sudbury has some of the best smoking spots in the country. Be sure to smoke a joint while watching the slag (molten mining waste) being dumped, or from the top of one of the “mountains” that divide Sudbury into its boroughs.

Law Enforcement: Marijuana is illegal in Quebec, so the police is looking for it. If you are caught smoking weed in public by a police officer, usually all that happens is they take it away, sometimes search you, and usually tell you to smoke it wherever they can’t see it.

Where to buy marijuana in Quebec city, Canada: Asking around is safe in the city.

Usually, if you can find some friendly peoples to talk to, it won’t take more than 3 or 4 “new passing friends” to get onto something. In the upper town, an usual spot is “D’Youville” square (Called D’Youville in french), yet more and more police seeks around for it at this spot. All around the city, when it’s sunny outside, just take a walk and use your nostril.

Go around ABRAHAM Battlefields, a huge field which is perfectly beautiful to take a walk burning a fat joint, and as always, keep an eye open for policeman, but they’re so easy to see in this place!

If you happen to be in the city for the 24th of june, every year it’s “St-Jean-Baptiste” day, meaning this place and around

is filled with 200 000 to 350 000 Quebekers, smoking and drinking until all the Live bands playing the main stage are done, usually when the sun’s rising up!

Take a walk within the walls of the old part of the city, or all around the city, open your eyes, you’ll be sure to end up with a few people rolling a joint in a corner or in a park. They can usually help you getting you the stuff.

Quebec city marijuana Prices:

1 ounce (28 grams) of premium pot is between 160-230$ CAN.

1 gram is about 10$ CAN.

Brands:

“Quebec Gold” is extremely high potency weed. Almost every brand you’ll find in the street is real good pot.

Quebekers love good herbs!

The usual words for it are “pot”, “weed”, “marijuana”

some knows about “beu”, ganja, clown herb (“herbes a clown” in french).

City tale: I am getting off the end of a trip here in Quebec City and have been unsuccesful in getting any weed. All the locals here seems to smoke but no one had any to buy. A couple locals I asked who were wearing something with a pot leaf on it acted VERY sketched out by me asking them, but most people were very friendly, gave me a bit of advice, and wished me luck. I spoke with some European backpackers who also had been hunting but had not had any luck. The weather here is poor, cold obviously since it is January, foggy and rainy. As a result there are very few people on the street. Those I talked to said that in good weather it is easy to find someone. In bad weather they said there usually was none to be had in Old Quebec, except maybe at one of the McDonald’s. They said try by the bars downtown and I may have better luck, I didn’t, but I did not have much time to try at that point. Yesterday I went into a head/porn shop located by the o ld Quebec wall and the guy working said he could hook me up if I came back at 9pm. Unfortunately I was not able to make it back due to other plans, but I tried returning to the same head shop the next day, a different guy was working. I hinted at what I needed and he asked if I was “looking for something to smoke.” I told him yes and he said “No, no” and looked uncomfortable. So although myself and other travelers had no luck, the people were generally cool and tried to help, and I did have the one positive response from a shop worker. So difficult to find in bad weather, but try downtown around the bars. In the more pleasant seasons just walk through the parks in Old or New Quebec and you’re very likely to come across something.
