Bangor, ME, Maine

Smoking tolerance level [1= very illegal 5=virtually legal]: 4

Legislation: Possession of less than 1.25 ounces is a civil violation, punishable by a fine of $200 – $400. Possession of 1.25 ounces or more is considered evidence of intent to distribute and is punished as such (see below).

Possession of a usable amount of marijuana is lawful if at the time of the possession the person has an authenticated copy of a medical record demonstrating that the person has a physician’s recommendation.

another reporter added: “Maine has had a medical marijuana law since late December, 1999: “Sixty-one percent of voters approved Question 2 on November 2, 1999. The law took effect on December 22, 1999. It removes state-level criminal penalties on the use, possession and cultivation of marijuana by patients who possess an oral or written “professional opinion” from their physician that he or she “might benefit from the medical use of marijuana.” Patients diagnosed with the following illnesses are afforded legal protection under this act: epilepsy and other disorders characterized by seizures; glaucoma; multiple sclerosis and other disorders characterized by muscle spasticity; and nausea or vomiting as a result of AIDS or cancer chemotherapy. Patients (or their primary caregivers) may legally possess no more than one and one-quarter ounces of usable marijuana, and may cultivate no more than six marijuana plants, of which no more than three may be mature. Those patients who poss

ess greater amounts of marijuana than allowed by law are afforded a “simple defense” to a charge of marijuana possession. The law does not establish a state-run patient registry.

AMENDMENTS: Yes. Senate Bill 611, which was signed into law on April 2, 2002, increases the amount of useable marijuana a person may possess from one and one-quarter ounces to two and one-half ounces.” Sources: http://www.norml.com/index.cfm?Group_ID=4541&wtm_view=medical and www.mainecommonsense.org”

Law Enforcement: The Bangor Police are low key and laid back in comparison to other US cities, so if you know there around just take it easy and you should be alright. Remember the cops are your friends; if caught treat them with respect and they should let you go. If they don’t just get revenge, torch a few cruisers or something to that extent….Go ahead and reenact a real Steven King moment.

Where to buy marijuana in Bangor : Just ask around, marijuana or so called trees are easy to be found. Some of the guaranteed spots would be at the bus terminal, at one of the local colleges, the YMCA , or just ask people coming out of one of the city smokeshops. If you are looking for the finer strains of meritable quality then expect to pay a lot more, generally the trendy crowds who are into smoking premium buds can be found downtown, or in and around the wharf area. All of your accessories including glass pipes, rolling papers, screens, grinders, and other novelty items can be found at the downtown headshop which is open until late in the evening. There is a large neon 4:20 sign in the window, so you just can’t miss it.

Brands: The list of marijuana strains in this town is extensive. If you’re looking for sativa then durban poison, white widow, or silver haze are good picks, if you prefer the indica variety try G-13 for its hallucinogenic nature. One of my personal favorites is blueberry bud; nice and trippy with a very strong up high. Expect to pay heavily for the really good shit, and don’t forget to inspect the quality of the merchandise before commiting yourself to a certain price.

More Information: Bangor is quickly becoming a vogue place to smoke up for its secluded location, yet quick proximity to high class restaurants, urban specialty stores, and trendy outdoor cafe’s. Here you will discover a wide range of things to do. One of my favorites being a stroll through Cascade Park, which features a waterfall and great views of the penobscot river. Travel north to discover empty highways of natural beauty, or south along Maine’s ocean coast. Wherever you choose to travel don’t forget to abide by the rules of dope smoking etiquette….take two and pass it.
