Legislation: Marijuana is illegal in Thailand, and so is any related activity.
Marijuana isn’t treated as lightly in Thailand as it is in the United States. In fact, if you get caught, the cops will treat you as if you got caught with Heroin.
Law enforcement: There are actually a lot of cops on this island. 2 of my friends have had to pay fines of 100,000 baht this year and spent a few days in a not so nice Thai jail.
Where to buy marijuana: Pot smokers paradise. You can smoke it wehere you want. Even in the bars.
Many bar owners smoke it openly and it’s ok to roll on your table in a bar.
and also: “I have ALWAYS scored at “Banana Rock” it’s OK smoke”
Marijuana prices: 1500 baht will get me a good brick
500 bahat = $10 per a 50 gr. bag.
A pre rolled pack of 20 joints costs 1500 Baht. that’s about $30.
and also “500 bhat for 4 – 5 grams (shitty prices, but, what are you gonna do?)”
Marijuana brands: ganja, nepalese hashish is also available but you need a contact
Smoking tolerance level [1= very illegal 5=virtually legal]: 4.5
Legislation: Cannabis is illegal in Thailand but the police in Koh Phangan is fairly corrupt.
It wouldnt be advisable not to smoke in public or in dodgey back streets, but smoking on the beach or hotel balcony should be kept discrete.
Law Enforcement: It’s easy to find weed in Koh Phangan. It’s the party island of Thailand and drugs is all around. Watch out though. You could be in serious trouble if you get caught by the wrong cop. Mostly you can get away with a bribe. This could vary between Thai Bath 10,000 and 25,000.
Where to Buy Marijuana in Koh Phangan: Just northwest of Tongsala you find a little town called Woktum. There is a place there called Amst*rdam Bar. It’s great and has the best sunset on the island and probably the world. Another good place to buy is also in the north called the Reggea Bar and is in Salad Beach. In the partytown Haddrin it’s also around, but you will pay more then at other places.
Another report added: The main beach where the full moon dance party is held on Haadrin has a little bar that sells weed. It’s all the way at the far end of the beach (to the left if you are facing the water). It’s located high up on the cliffs so you have to walk up lots of stairs to get to it. When I asked at the bar they sold me a bag with perhaps 5g or more of commercial grade pot for only 500 bat. There were people smoking spliffs openly in the bar.
Otherwise, what many people do is ask the owner of the guesthouse they are staying in for weed. It will take a little while for them to get it, but many are willing to sell it. One beach guesthouse I stayed at even had bongs that the owner allowed people to use. But there’s also a rumor that some guesthouse owners may tip you off to the corrupt police, who might bust into your room and shake you down for a bribe to keep you out of jail for the pot they find.
Koh Phangan Marijuana Prices: Prices vary between 500 and 1000 Bath for a package containing 5 to 10 grams of good Thai weed. Watch out though. They could have weed that has a high chemical level, because of used chemicals in the production process.
More information: If you want to get some good prices don’t stay in Haadrin. Rent a motorcycle and drive north…

Where to buy marijuana: Go all the way south on the island, just past the village og Bang Bao. Look for a place called Hippi Huts. The guy in here, zack, is a really nice guy. He’ll give you a good brick (6-8g) for 300-400 bath. Its got some seed but is still potent.
Marijuana prices: 2000 Baht will buy you a decent small brick. About 30 grams. You’ll get about 30 decent sized joints out of that. For 1000 Baht you can pick up a decent little bag, probably about 10+ grams.

Where to Buy Marijuana in Chiang Mai: Next to the Emress hotel there is a street pub right on the corner next to the tuk tuk station. the drivers of these Tuk Tuks all know where to buy pot and will get it for you but at outrageous prices. good truff, mind you. as you leave the hotel and go to the main road, there is a small street pub on your right (50 meters) and a Tuk Tuk station on your left. ahead is a gentelmens called Ken’s. you can go there too but they will try to sell you girls. either the pub or the Tuk Tuks will help.

Law Enforcement: strict especially if your a tourist – i lived in thailand for 8 years and i smoked pot for 6 of those years. i have been arrested 3 times in bangkok and weed is no joking matter with the cops. i had maybe 20 grams and was told ide be in prison for 10 years with a smile. cops are not paid well in thailand so i was lucky to get corrupted cops each time and paid my way out. let me put it this way, they have a world cup of soccer in the jails there because there are so many tourist caught with drugs. the best way is to go in the south in the islands and there are not many cops there. as for asking in khoa san that is a stupid idea. they will want to make money off it and than fuck you over wit cops so everyone makes money. i have had a cop pull a sack a weed from his pocket threatening me to put it on me if i was to come back to that area.
Marijuana import, export or possession are strictly prohibited, except With permission from Minister of Public Health in accordance with approval from Office of the Narcotics Control Board.
In the past year the police have been raiding bars and forcing people to give urine samples and drug tests. they are crazy. pot is a lot less available and a lot more expensive, not to mention other drugs. this situation will hopefully correct itself soon enough.
Where to Buy Marijuana in Bangkok: Go to Soi 33. Go down the Soi until you reach the parking lot. There will be an old lady there who will sell you any amount of marijuana. Also, go to Soi 26 all the way at the very end of the Soi there will be a hotel. The motorcycle taxi drivers outside the hotel will sell you any drug. You will have to wait a while before you get it. But theres a bar in the hotel and a 7/11 outside so you can kill time.
And also:
“Locate the street called TROK MAYOM, its a backstreet to Khao Sarn Rd.
LOTS of reggae bars, aks any of them… OR ask at the clothes shop located in the middle of that street… just look of for stoners 😀 heheh
motorcycle taxis
Kawa-San street, home to many of Bangkok’s guest houses, is also the center of Bangkok pot. When walking around Kawa-san, ask any of the guest house clerks or owners, who will either sell you the weed their selves, or point you in the right direction.
There is a very good massage parlor called Darling close to Sukhumvit on Soi 12. go there and if you lucky they will get you a pre rolled pack of 20 joints.
In the islands, it is even easier to purchase pot. For example, the Bob-Marley restaurant in Kopan-gan sells pot as a menu item.
Our most recent report is: “I read a lot on the internet about “hot spots” to buy weed. To follow any of that advice, the people there are hella scared to even pronounce the word “marijuana” fearing that the cops might hear them. As a tourist, I spent a few days asking middle age people for the “goods.” Finaly, I came up with a solution. THIS PLAN WORKS. I got in a “tuk tuk,” with a young driver. At a red light I kindly asked him if he could get me some….success. He dropped me of for about 6 minutes, came back with 4 or so grams and took me back to my hotel. Tips for buying:
1. Don’t give them the money until they give you the weed. If you give them the money first they will rat you out to the police and make “double money.”
2. Don’t be scared to negotiate the price. Thai are nice people, and they will always drop the price to about 1/2 of what they originaly said.
3. Watch out for the Po Po!”
Bangkok Marijuana Prices:
2000 baht should get you a ripe old amount wrapped in newspaper and very fresh. 500 baht will get you an amazing amount as well of the same stuff. Never pay more than 2000. Never pay less than 200-300.
Brands: ganja, nepalese hashish is also available but you need a contact
Local weed usually grown in the northeast of Thailand is sold. The local weed has not very high potency, and sometimes contains seeds.
More information: Better of going to the islands 😀 but for the time in BKK is fine 😉
In Pratunam, near the markets and the hotel Indra Regent you will find what you are after but be sure to be discreet. I lived in BKK for 8 months and I always just went here for my ganja supply rather than giving any local dealer my address or phone number. Outside this tourist hotel I mentioned, towards the main road, you will see (after 6pm) a group of tuk-tuk drivers waiting around for passengers and just chatting jovially to one another, or possibly even drinking thai whisky (sangsom) Ask any of these guys for ‘ganja’. They are the same guys who hang there any day of the week so you ain’t getting ripped off here. The way it works is they will call their buddy who will be a cab driver (I will not give names or cab numbers) they will arrive 10 mins later driving a green and yellow ‘meter’ taxi. You will get into the taxi (the guy that organised him will tell you when the driver gets their and which taxi he is in) and once you are in and
doors closed, he will give you the ganja. You don’t need to take a ride anywhere.
ALWAYS ESTABLISH THE PRICE BEFORE BUYING ANYTHING IN THAILAND, same goes for ganja. You should expect to pay as a tourist, approx 1500 baht for 5 grams of compressed local grown outdoor weed (without seeds or stems more often than not). Pot is consistently much cheaper in Bangkok then it is at any of the major tourist islands eg. Phuket, Phi Phi
Thai people are easy going, friendly and genuine. Always remember to smile (even if you are annoyed or bothered) and they will dig even further to help you.
Keep the ganja away from police unless you happen to be carrying around $1500 – $2000 USD or the equivalent in thai baht to use as a bribe. If you should get caught, as happens, if you are going to bribe, do it straight away before he calls his mates over and tell him that the ‘gift’ is only for him. Otherwise you could end up paying 4-6 thousand US to keep his buddies quiet.
I am talking from experience. If you get busted, be quick and firm with your offer. You have a 90% chance of enjoying the rest of your stay. Otherwise, think Bangkok Hilton.

Legislation: Zanzibar is an island of the coast of Tanzania in the indian ocean. You can get here by taking a 2 hour ferry from capitol Dar es Salaam. Island is relatively undeveloped other than resorts in some areas of coast. people are friendly and wiling to help
Law enforcement: along the coast i saw no official police and hotel security is mellow. back in stone town there were few walking police though few and far between.
Where to buy marijuana: on the beach anyone trying to sell key chains and wood carvings secretly wants to sell you some ganga or hashish. though they have nothing on them, they are more than willing to bike to the next village and deliver your order. Also no payment up front is needed, however once a deal is agreed to, its frowned upon to back out.
Marijuana prices: about 10 usd for 5 grams of south african (best stuff) can be seedy but does the trick in tropical paradise. roughly 20 usd for about 2 grams of sticky fresh hash, quite happy with the quality of the product.
Marijuana brands: i heard of simply ganga or south african, the south african typically a superior choice, and the hash, from two different guys seemed to be the same quality stuff.

Legislation: Marijuana use is listed as a Schedule 2 narcotic, in the same league as codeine, ecstasy (or MDMA) and LSD and is punishable by no less than seven years in prison, according to the Statue for Narcotics Hazard Control.
Cannabis is Illegal, punishable by death for trafficking.
Law Enforcement: Do not smoke out in public. Police know what it smells and looks like, and there are plenty of police everywhere in the city. Getting caught with marijuana is a big deal in Taipei, you will most definitly end up in jail.
Where to buy marijuana in New Taipei: Since marijuana smoking is not very popular among Taiwanese people, getting marijuana in Taipei isn’t a very easy mission. The way to go about it is to ask only friendly foreigners around the nightclub scene.
Our reporter who hung around Taipei reported the following:
”There is a bar called Carnagie’s in Taipei. It’s the in place for non Chinese ex-patriots to hang out in. on a Thursday, Friday and Saturday the place is hopping with a DJ etc. I went there and met some white guys who after some conversation helped me get some real good hash the next day. It wasn’t expensive. I think I paid about $50 for a nice piece. The trick is to go about it gently and patiently. The white folks that hang out at Carnagies are nice and helpful to visiting fellow Europeans/Americans etc. these are not dealers, just people who can help you around Taipei.”
You may also want to check out a lounge bar called Woodstock right next to the infamous Roxy 99. Ask any foreigner in Taipei how to get to Roxy 99 and u can’t go wrong.
This bar has giant ice-cooled genuine brass hookahs, with a variety of flavored tobacco pastes, for NT$500 (about US$15) a session, which is enough for a tableful of people. The other night, we popped some weed in there. Nobody noticed and/or cared.
and our most recent report is: “It’s very difficult to find dealers if you’re just in Taipei for vacation, there are no street dealers. The best bet is to visit bars (not sports bars) that expats frequent and ask around….there are many of them, just pick up a English newspaper or publication.”
Taipei Marijuana Prices: Price varies depending on quality…..local pays about $10000nt for 10g for top quality imports, or really nice domestically grown. That’s about $300usd for 10g, it’s extremely expensive. Southeast asia imports sells for about $700nt for 10g, but it’s very bad stuff.
Brands: There is usually no choice, the dealer will only have 1 type, and the quality differs by a lot from time to time.
More information: It’s stoner’s hell in Taiwan, the environment is not suitable for getting stoned, dealers are hard to come by, sometime you find a reliable hook up and they dissapear after a few months……on top of that, it’s ridiculously expensive.

Legislation: Switzerland is a federal state and the law on drugs is the same for all provinces. According to the Swiss law- it is illegal to own or carry pot or hash, except for private smoking involving small quantities in a private place.
Law Enforcement: Smoking is usually not risky on most spots, as there aren’t really that many cops. . If you do get in trouble, the police will write you a ticket and fine. Teenagers under 18 who are caught smoking pot, will be arrested until released by their parents.
Near the lake is probably the least safe place to smoke outdoors, while smoking indoors is safe.
Where to buy Marijuana in Zurich: in CH there are no more head shop after 2004 (i live there)..its so difficult now to find anything!!!
Buying Mrijuana or hash on the street is not recommended, but if you get to the Langstrasse area (which is also the red light district of Zurich), you will find street dealers.
Zurich Marijuana Prices: 4 grams of top quality pot costs about 50 francs = 40 USD.
For the same price, you may also get approx. 7 grams of top quality Hash.
The prices in Zurich have been stable for the last few years.
Weed Brands: Only top quality pot is sold in Zurich, and you may find all Amsterdam brands for sale.

Zurich isn’t just the largest city and financial centre of Switzerland; it is also the most drug-friendly city in the mountainous nation.
Like all cities in Switzerland, Zurich is enjoying a period of relaxed – an possibly reformed — drug laws that allow less-than-discreet pot and hash smoking around the city.
“Almost any drugs can be had on the street here. At the moment the scene happens along the river just near the station, a road called Sihl Quai,” said Wolf from the United States, who lived in Zurich for several months.
“Almost instantly you will run into a group of people selling hash. They stand on the sidewalk, just by a pedestrian crossing, waiting for customers.”
The best way to get to Sihl Quai from the central train station — Hauptbahnhof — is to head past the National Museum and over the Gessner Bridge that crosses the Sihl River.
If you can’t find a hash or pot dealer on the street, head for a local hemp or head shop, where both Super Skunk and Northern Lights bud is available in abundance. Keep an eye out for local dealers who have an unfortunate tendency to dilute their wares with tobacco. Still, locals swear by the hash.
“There are usually at least 5 to ten people selling hash — you get a reasonable choice,” Wolf said. “I have also seen some grass, but not a lot and mostly miserable quality.”
The Langstrasse area is the red light district of Zurich. “Sometimes you have to pay attention so that you don’t get robbed and there are drug dealers,” said Gabe, an American living in Zurich. “Remember, where drug dealers are, there is always also the police. So take care what ever you do.”
Aside from the typical red light diversions, the district is a decent place to find some hash or a post-smoke falafel before nightfall in Zurich. Because rent in the area is surprisingly cheap — by Swiss standards – a lot of immigrants live near Langstrasse, which translates to a lot of highly edible, cheap eats to fix the munchies.
But be sure to keep a hand on your wallet. If hunger isn’t a problem, wander down to Helvetia platz at one end of Langstrasse and check out the Kanslei flea market on Saturday. Although most items are simple junk, there are a few good deals to be found. But if slightly more expensive market shopping is your style, a more costly market with better junk is at Burkli platz by the lake and a high-class market can be found in Rosenhof. But don’t skimp on the tram or bus tickets in Zurich. “You have to take a ticket our of the machine at every station, Gabe said. “If they catch you will have to pay [almost $10] or more if you don`t pay on the spot.”
Nearby Neiderdorf is the main drag for traditional tourists. Lined with a nice selection of bars and some talented street performers, Neiderdorf also hosts the young and hip section of Old Town on the right bank of the river.
Head to the area for a few — rather expensive — drinks during a night out on the town.
While it is technically illegal to light up that hash pipe while kicking back and taking in the sights, most police officers and locals will turn a blind eye and nose to your heavily scented smoke as long as your indulgence is subtle, and you’re over 18. If you do get in trouble, the police will write you a ticket and fine. Teenagers under 18 who are caught smoking pot, will be arrested until released by their parents.
The Swiss Federal Office of Public Health and the Federal Commission for Drug Issues are both pushing for liberalization of the nation’s drug laws to make dealing and smoking pot and hash a legal pastime.
“Altered habits of consumption have turned [cannabis] into a recreational drug enjoyed by a large percentage of the population, unaccompanied by any feelings of wrong doing and a world away from the consumption of ‘hard’ drugs,” the office of Public Health said.
The government is currently debating whether to adopt a system making personal consumption legal — similar to the situation in Amsterdam – or establish a completely legal cannabis marketplace.
