Legislation: Cannabis is schedule II in Canada (for more than 3 kg). Canada’s cannabis control laws are spottily enforced, with the west coast (British Columbia) being well known for its high quality cannabis and low levels of enforcement. In 2002, Canada’s federal government made several findings in favor of cannabis legalization and medical use approval. Although the status of medical cannabis is still in flux (sep 2002), the Canadian government has several times voiced its intention to support full medical use. Non-viable Cannabis seeds and Cannabis stalks (that do not include leaves, flowers, seeds or branches) are exempted.
In July 2000, an Ontario Court of Appeal ruled against the Canadian law because it did not address medical necessity and on July 31, 2001 a new regulation was enacted by the cabinet which addressed medical use. In January 2003, a lower Ontario court ruled simple possession laws banning cannabis unconstitutional, although it is unclear what the long term implications of this might be.

Legislation: you’re allowed to carry up to 4 grams or so and receive only a fine or a strict warning.
Law enforcement: the cops really won’t bother you for smoking, just don’t be an idiot about it. in certain areas of town you won’t be bothered at all.
Where to buy marijuana: Can basically be found on most every corner of downtown.. there are a few shady characters to stay away from since they will try and rip you off, im not trying to make it sound rude or racist either but the majority of the rip off artists are the blacks. Brands: the local greens are usually quite potent and totally worth the money. sometimes you may run accross some not so great greens, but thats not an unusual thing in any city. The Market is flooded with outdoor killer late late September to Mid-October.
More information: All in all Fort Erie is a very smoke friendly city, don’t look susupicious, don’t do anything stupid, and you’ll basically be left alone.
Smoking tolerance level [1= very illegal 5=virtually legal]: 4.8
Legislation: it is against the law to possess marijuana in Canada. If you have baggies, scales or other selling paraphenalia, you may be charged with trafficking.

Law enforcement: edmonton, like calgary, is very casual. although you can be able to find people who smoke in public, it isn’t terribly common. police have larger issues to deal with and like the majority of canada, it is tolerated in small amounts. unlikely to be charged if carrying personal use.
our most recent report is: “If cops find you with weed they will usually just take it. Or if you get an asshole he’ll take it use it as evidence and try to charge (Only if you have alot or your lippy to him)”
Where to buy marijuana: whyte avenue is your best bet if you don’t know anyone local. chances are a local can hook you up extremely easily. if not, the myriad of bars, pubs, skate shops, and weed accessory shops will point you in the right direction.
another reporter dded: “Everywhere. Go downtown to Jasper Ave, or White Ave theres alot of places you could ask. Just ask Random Pot heads if they can score you some trees and they’ll probably just want to smoke it with you”
Edmondton Marijuana prices: alberta weed is just as good as bc bud. all hydroponic typically. 1/4’s go for about 50, 1/2’s around
another report is: “45 for a Quarter 1/4

Usually you can get better deals but most dealers sell it for this much.
But ive got 16g for 60 bucks “one time”
**update**
Current prices as of May, 2008:

them you want the kush… trust me, it’s worth the extra $20
Marijuana brands: No specific brands here mostly all good weed No hydro and stuff not like in the USA where you have to pay more for Kind bud You dont call it that up there all weed is preatty good

Law enforcement: Very low. I’ve never been hassled for smoking dope in Dundas, and nobody I know has either. Although it’s not recommended or condoned (hehe), you could probably walk up King Street and smoke a joint without anyone caring…
Where to buy marijuana: You won’t find it in Dundas unless you know a hookup. However, it is pretty easy to find it if you just ask the “gangster” young ppl, they’re usually willing to help.
Marijuana prices: Prices vary a lot. You could get an eighth for 35 bucks one week and the next week you could get the same eighth for 20 bucks. It’s all up to the weedman.
More information: Dundas has some of the best weed you will find, MUCH better than Hamilton. And, the prices are very similar to boot. The only hassle is finding the weed.

Where to buy Marijuana in Duncan, BC: Any bar, pub or gathering place after dark
Prices: 1/2 oz $65 -$80 1 pound $2000
Brands: Marijuana sold in Duncan, BC is extremely high potency bc bud. It is nearly impossible to make a bad purchase in Victoria, BC..

Law enforcement: It is against the law, but as with the rest of Canada it’s pretty slack on the enforcement. However Calgary, over the past few years has been starting to crack down on alot of grow-ops. And they will bust you (depending on the cop).
Most of them are pretty nice people, and might just ask you to put it out. However because of the recent grow-op busts some can be pretty gun-ho. Best bet is to never carry more then you need to, and don’t act all dumb. And if the police do try to talk to you, be polite and respectful, and you should be fine.
Where to buy marijuana: The best places are along 17ave SW or Stephen Ave in the downtown core. If you know a buddy in the city it can make things a lil easier. It’s always better to go with a local rather then a downtown corner guy. You’ll get better counts, better stuff. But it’s pretty easy around Stampede time, you can walk just about anywhere downtown and find someone toking away in a park. Or you’ll have the guys walk by you selling budz.
If you keep your eyes open you can prolly find some locals toking away, but try to avoid asking people around the clubs, as sometimes they can be a litttle testy.
Calgary Marijuana prices: pretty average prices. 10-g , 60-80-1/4 , 160-200- O If you get stuck buying from runners along 17th or Stephen try to stick to dimebags.
Strains: Mostly BC Bud, although you can find most anything if you put your mind to it and have some resources to work with. However if your just visiting the city, chances are you wont have much of a selection other then hash or weed. Avoid buying off people that also sell hard drugs, they usally have lower quality stuff, and sometimes it can be shake.
More information: Calgary isn’t really a place you go just to smoke a lil pot. Although you’re probably safe just to walk down any street puffing on a joint, some cops may try to harrass you, or even dump your bag. But as a general rule if you’re not bothering anyone, they won’t bother you.
Calgary is also home to the Calgary Stampede, and this is one good old type fun. The whole city stirs up into a frenzy, and they love to welcome people from all over the world. The people here are very nice, and have no problem welcoming a stranger.
Also the beauty of the landscape is something to behold. Calgary is one of the world’s cleanest cities. Great parks, a wonderful zoo, and some of the best steak anywhere. It’s definitly a great place to visit!
Smoking tolerance level [1= very illegal 5=virtually legal]: 4.5
Legislation: Marijuana is illegal in Canada, but pretty lenient with enforcement.
Law enforcement: Most cops are pretty chill if you get caught with possession, unless your driving, then they can get pretty upset. just try to be as polite as possible and listen to the demands they say.
They have tossed marijuana pipes and accessories into the trash.
Where to buy marijuana: Sometimes tougher to find in Cambridge, best thing to do would be to go to the skate park and ask someone or go to the downtown Preston and Hespeler areas and look for the thugs.
You can buy it in downtown Cambridge (galt). Don’t give them the money until you get the weed, this happens a lot.
Marijuana prices: $10 = 1g, $20 = 2g, $25-35 (depending on strain) = 3.5g, $50-70 (strain depending) = 7.0 g, $70-110(strain depending) = 14.3 g, $140-230 (strain depending) = 28.6 g
Marijuana brands: Lots of really good hydros such as Champagne, White Widdows, White Rhino, Humboldt County, BC Gold. The supply is endless.
More information: Cambridge is a good place to get good herb.
Clyde Road.. Ask the right people and on this road, you can find ANYTHING.
Smoking tolerance level: [1= very illegal 5=virtually legal]: 3
Legislation: Marijuana is illegal in Canada. It is treated as a schedule II drug and the maximum sentence you can receive for possession is 5 years in prison, but you’d have to be holding a hell of alot of green to receive that sentence.
Law enforcement: Really it depends on the cop that busts you to determine what will happen, but most cops will just take your weed and any paraphernalia you have on you. It’s very rare that you will go to court for possession on PEI. Don’t get caught. You might get off but not after going to court first. Its pretty easy to not get caught though. Common sense.
Where to buy marijuana: Latest reports tell us: “It’s fairly difficult to find weed on PEI unless you know people. So maybe start by hitting up the bars and pubs if you’re over 19, I’m sure there’ll somebody there who can hook you up. If that doesn’t work, or you’re under 19 just ask anyone downtown who looks like the smoke pot, you pretty much have 0 chance of anyone trying to mug you or harm you in any way. Stick to the main streets which are University Ave, and Queen because you won’t find many people walking around on the side streets. Also try the Waterfront around where the bars are, there are usually alot of people walking around drunk on the weekend. When trying to find marijuana in Charlottetown the only trouble you’ll run into are the cops.”
Local connections are needed. Charlottetown is very much the center of everything on PEI so you will find the nest bud within the city, as opposed to out in the sticks where it is all homegrown. Ask someone on the street and your more likely to get laughed at but I have seen it work. Check out the bars, there aren’t that many, if you can find someone who will help you out they probably aren’t going to rip you off.
Marijuana prices: Basically you’re looking at 10 a g, but when you start buying large quantities it really depends on who you are getting it from, and how much you’re buying. This is what you will most likely pay if you are a stranger on PEI:
10 a G.
30 for a 1/8.
60 for a 1/4.
100 for a 1/2
And anywhere from 200 to 240 for an ounce.
Other say: $10/gram. Never any cheaper, rarely more expensive. Possibly $15 a gram outside of the city.
Marijuana brands: Whatever happens to be around at the time. Its a very small place. On occasions I have made “new” connections only to find out its my dealer who happened to be out the day before.
More information: Make a friend here before you come. Otherwise you may be without pot.
There are alot of stoners on PEI, and in Charlottetown. If you see a party, there is weed there.

Law enforcement: Cops are di**s for the most part, they spend all day dealing with crackheads and prostitutes in the east end, but they still seem to find enough time to hassle stoners around the community. Make sure you keep out of sight when smoking bongs, joints are relatively easy to smoke around the downtown park and cafes.
Where to buy marijuana: Chatham is a small town, yo’ll probably have a hard time finding the herb without a connection in this city. Hang around the mall, or Tecumseh Park. Other locations of interest would be high schools.
Marijuana prices: 1-3g $10 per gram
3.5 g $25
7.5g 50
14g 80-90
1 oz 140-200
Outdoor 140-180
Indoor/Hydro 140-200
Marijuana brands: Predominantly hydroponic Thai strains from Missisauga and London, beautiful outdoor Montreal and other local varieties during the long growing and harvest season.
More information: The community in general is pretty pro pot, with high levels of liberal and ndp supporters as well as many outdoor growsers and rising levels of indoor grows this could be a pothead haven soon enough.

Law Enforcement: Marijuana illegality is hardly enforced. If a police officer stops you the usual result is confiscation. Because of the light police presence in this town, police virutaly never respond to complaints unless there is a crime involved, or excessive noise. Creston is a small town so it’s easy enough to avoid the cops by just heading of on a side road or in an orchard. In the summer the town is flooded with “migrent workers” for the fruit harvest, mostly really cool people from all over Canada, during this time police enforcement of marijuana laws is non-existant. It is not uncommen for people to smoke joints walking down main street.
Creston BC Marijuana prices: Check the weed before you buy, it probly is some really good cron, BC bud, but someone might try to give you some crap. An 1/8 goes for $20-$30, for $30 you should be getting incredible weed.
More information: Lots of people come into the town during late July/August for the Cherry harvest. If your looking for a party in beutifull little town it’s a great time to visit, and short term jobs are plentiful.
